The new design provided a full additional level to the building with new family lounge, bedroom, bathroom and study area. Planning permission was also gained for a rear glass kitchen extension. The entrance hall captures sunlight to both levels through the double volume space with roof-lights above and glazed balcony. Full volume of roof has been utilised on the top floor with minimal timber ties. The further level was constructed from matching painted brickwork with a lightweight timber frame.
